TAKE FIVE: Garden centre cafes; Garden centres aren’t just a place for purchasing plants and flowers – they usually have a jolly nice cafe. Lynette Pinchess picks five of Notts’ finest

Breakfasts from cereals and fruit to a full English, homemade meals and snacks, all table service. Ingredients are sourced from local food producers: eggs from Peter in the village, milk from the local dairy and salads and herbs are grown in its own vegetable garden.

Home cooked breakfasts, light bites and gorgeous cakes. At the helm in the kitchen is Fiona Palmer, a former army chef who has served in Afghanistan.

Serving breakfasts, sandwiches and paninis, homemade soup and main meals including cottage pie, mushroom stroganoff, chicken tikka and spaghetti bolognese – plus delicious cakes.
