Van den Bergh is adding four of Colman’s most popular condiment lines to its portion pack range. The brands are Colman’s English Mustard, French Mustard, Fresh Garden Mint and Tartare Sauce. The mustards come in five-gram packs, while the two sauces come in 12-gram packs. Both will be sold in packs of eight, 50-sachet bags.

Britvic Soft Drinks is moving into the energy drinks market with the launch of Red Card. Claimed to be the first drink to offer extended energy benefits, Red Card is being aimed at young men through a marketing campaign that includes sponsorship of non-league Chelmsford City FC. The product will be available in 330ml cans and 500ml widemouth PET bottles.

Chef equipment specialist Gilberts is using next month’s Restaurant Show at Olympia to launch the 80-item range of Paderno stainless steel pots and pans, imported from Italy. The range includes stockpots, saucepans, frying and saute pans, and the pans have an aluminium and stainless steel sandwich base to make them more hard-wearing and give even heat conductivity.

The Balti Pie and the Hot And Spicy Pastie are Cuisine Foodservice’s latest additions to its pie and pastie range. The eight-ounce ready-baked Balti Pie is made with mutton, onion and tomatoes, cooked in Balti spices with a puff pastry crust. The Hot And Spicy Pastie is filled with hot and spicy chicken.

Crockery manufacturer The Dudson Group has produced a design based on traditional Native American designs from Arizona and New Mexico. The range, called Nevada, is black on a white background with scrolls and angular designs and is complemented by turtle and lizard motifs.

Two soups have been added to the 18 varieties in McDougalls Catering Foods range of soup mixes. The new flavours are Broccoli & Stilton and Potato & Leek. They are prepared by adding water to the mix, and the manufacturer claims the cost to operators can be as low as five pence a portion. All the soup mixes come in three pack sizes – 25 and 100 portions, and 2.25kg.

Transatlantic Specialities has unveiled a fast-food tray with a linen-look surface, which the firm claims allows better printing of logos and designs. The trays have integral handles, and come in three sizes and 14 colours. They are dishwasher-safe, stain-and odour-resistant, and have stacking lugs to allow air circulation for faster drying.

Mars Confectionery has launched Milky Way Crispy Rolls, the latest extension to its Milky Way brand. The rolls are two fingers of wafer with a Milky Way filling, covered in milk chocolate. They are aimed at children slightly older than the eight-years-and-under core Milky Way market. They will retail at 20p each.
