JAMIE OLIVER’S crusade to change the tastes of the nation’s schoolchildren is starting to pay off, with healthy dividends.
Sales of school meals in Norfolk plummeted by 10 percent after Jamie raised concerns about the nutritional value of food served to pupils.
Head teachers were forced to introduce healthier menus following an outcry from parents who had watched Jamie’s attacks on Turkey Twizzlers and other fast foods in 2005.

Galton, of The Great British Menu fame, boasted: “We’ve worked very hard to get the menu as healthy and interesting as possible and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed involving children across the county with how the food on the menu is cooked.
“It ‘s great that parents across the county are once again trusting school dinners, it’s the way it should be, and was just as important as getting the children enthused about the food.”
