Leeds City College catering students are hosting an evening of innovative dining with Chef Ben Spalding as he introduces a one-off, £25 dining experience in Leeds on March 8.

Ben’s CV includes 28 + restaurants including; Per SeRestaurant Gordon Ramsay, the Ledbury, Bagatelle, The Fat Duck, Le Manoir, Vue de Monde and L’enclume; as well as a new pop-up in Shoreditch in May, and future projects in Hungary, St Tropez, Dubai and India.

Ben is no stranger to Leeds City College and will work with students to create a seven course contemporary dinner, compiling some of his signature dishes.

Guests will enjoy an interactive evening trying foods such as hot and cold soup, local corn fed chicken prepared eight ways and many other exciting techniques and flavours.

The 45-minute masterclass for students will be followed by an intense preparation session, focusing on setup and organisation standards and ending on delivering a solid service to customers in a fun setting.

Scott Masey, Lecturer at Leeds City College is enthusiastic about the influence of Ben’s food on students: “As a college we are proactive in getting industry chefs involved and Ben is a fantastic example of someone who can pass on useful knowledge and skills to the next generation of chefs.”

Ben is equally pleased to be returning: “It is absolutely awesome to come back to Leeds City College to inspire and cook with the students. I cooked at the college last year and I am continually impressed by their quality approach and dedication to their teaching methods. They nurture students in a highly professional, fair but realistic way to prepare them for life in the industry.”

Ben Spalding and students @ Leeds City College will take place on March 8 at The Food Academy, Printworks Campus and will cost £25pp. For further details phone 0113 2846262
